ABOUT THIS ROLE This position is vital for maintaining optimal functionality of plant equipment. As a Plant Maintenance Technician, you will be key in ensuring plant production equipment is well-maintained and operates effectively. You will conduct comprehensive inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs as necessary, while keeping management informed of any conditions that could affect production. Daily and weekly reports will be a part of your responsibilities to ensure smooth operations. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Commit to communicating and adhering to safety policies across all work environments. Conduct inspections of plant equipment, making necessary repairs and adjustments, and report findings to the Area Manager. Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies during daily tasks and ensure timely completion of paperwork. Complete work orders promptly, including installation, repair, and fabrication of materials, with an emphasis on safety and immediate concern resolution. Perform preventative maintenance on both fixed and mobile equipment, ensuring functionality and availability. Prepare and weld steel and aluminum structures, ensuring high-quality outputs. Conduct routine inspections of plant and mobile equipment, reporting findings to the Area Manager. Prepare necessary plant reports and maintain an inventory of commonly used repair supplies. Assist colleagues as needed to support completion of their activities. Respond to emergency situations swiftly to address immediate safety concerns. Carry out emergency repairs on production equipment to minimize downtime. Maintain the shop, equipment, and tools to guarantee their readiness and safety. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR High School diploma/GED. At least two (2) years of mechanical repair, installation, and construction experience in heavy industry. Working knowledge of basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; proficient with welding and machining equipment. Experience with Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures. Demonstrated welding experience. Experience in confined spaces. Basic computer skills, with a willingness to learn company software. Additional Requirements: Show a commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies. Promote a culture of safety while exhibiting required behaviors. Successful candidates must strictly follow safety protocols in the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including the requirement to be clean-shaven for proper respirator use.
