The Development department is seeking a full-time Coordinator, Prospect Research to perform in-depth research on current and prospective donors to help expand donor relationships and inform effective donor engagement. Additionally, the Coordinator will support Advancement staff by working with the Prospect Research and Management team to review incoming gifts and mine the Raisers Edge database to assign new prospects to work with frontline fundraising staff.
Job duties include, but are not limited to: Perform focused research on prospective and existing donors using subscription research databases, online resources, internal files and databases and other resources to capture biographical information and information regarding financial capacity and philanthropic propensity. This might include analyzing compensation, stock and option ownership, retirement plans, property transactions, alternative assets and philanthropic interests. Synthesize research into organized profiles for use by AMNH leadership and staff or into short biographical paragraphs and lists of prospective donors. Work with the Prospect Research and Management team to interpret and analyze internal datasets to uncover trends and patterns that produce actionable insights to help Advancement achieve fundraising and other goals. Use project management tools to ensure efficient team workflow. Gradually assume responsibility for the overall organization and maintenance of the teams project management software. Monitor the team budget, including by tracking periodical and database subscriptions. Perform and compile research on event and program attendees, Trustee candidates, Advisory Council candidates and other Museum groups as indicated by the Director. Work with the Director and other colleagues to support fundraisers prospecting and engagement efforts utilizing data and compiled research. Perform data entry, maintain accurate records in Raisers Edge database, and support the Director with other research-related projects, as needed. Staff Advancement events in the evening and on some weekends, as needed.
The expected salary range for the Coordinator, Prospect Research is $50,000/annual $57,000/annual. This position is overtime-eligible and the AMNH offers an extensive benefits package designed to meet the needs of our dedicated and diverse community.
Pay will be determined based on several factors. The hiring range for the position at commencement is based on the type of work and the scope of responsibilities. The salary and placement offered is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization and depth and scope of experience.
Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Two yearsrelevant experience ina nonprofit, office or other relevant professional setting. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly the ability to leverage all the tools in Microsoft Excel to manipulate and interpret data. Excellent writing, organizational and analysis skills. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in humanities, social sciences, liberal arts, statistics, data analytics or another related field. Familiarity with Raisers Edge NXT or other relational databases. Physical Demands
Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods. Must be able to move about the Museum campus. Category
