Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing key components of a comprehensive fundraising program, with direct accountability for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospective donors. The role requires active leadership in advancing annual fund initiatives, supporting individual sport fundraising efforts, and ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of donor benefits. In addition, this position will play a critical role in executing strategic development initiatives, fostering meaningful donor relationships, and driving measurable growth in philanthropic support for the department.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the development, execution, and coordination of all aspects of Annual Giving (Eagle Club), including the production and distribution of solicitation materials, donor prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, renewal statements, and benefit fulfillment.
Independently solicit and secure annual fund donations through outbound call campaigns, in-person visits, and event-based stewardship, while consistently meeting or exceeding monthly personal fundraising goals.
Oversee and ensure accuracy of all annual fund (Eagle Club) renewal invoicing across campaigns, maintaining timeliness and accountability in donor communication.
Design, implement, and manage campus fundraising campaigns, with direct responsibility for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding faculty and staff donors.
Create and manage the production of publications, brochures, and digital collateral materials necessary to advance fundraising initiatives, ensuring alignment with branding and campaign goals.
Direct the assignment, tracking, and operational logistics of reserved donor parking on gamedays, ensuring accuracy, organization, and a positive donor experience.
Maintain, manage, and ensure integrity of the donor and prospect database, working collaboratively with the USM Foundation to provide accurate reporting and recordkeeping.
Serve as an official representative of the Department of Athletics at civic clubs, alumni gatherings, and community events, strengthening relationships and expanding donor engagement.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in sport management, business, marketing, communications, or another related field. Two or more years’ experience in fundraising/development.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, donors, and the general public.
Proven capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to produce high volumes of work on deadline without compromising quality or consistency.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate project goals, expectations, and outcomes to stakeholders and team members.
