Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking to find a Journeyman Moldmaker for our client who specializes in manufacturing parts used in aerospace, turbine, medical, military and other fields.

In this role you will construct, maintain, repair, and modify wax molds and fixtures, participate in the upgrading of production molds; dimensionally check new and/or modified wax patterns and tooling to assure tooling packages meet specifications; and provide technical assistance to other departments. Day shift 6:00am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday $35.45 - $49.66/hr depending on experience Mold Maker Job Description:

Identify causes of tool problems and develop plans to remake, repair or upgrade tooling to increase operational efficiency. Check dimensions of tools and/or patterns using a variety of hand measuring devices, including micrometers, height gauges and dial indicators. Lay out tooling projects. Set up and operate all department machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, rotary tables; monitors and adjust mechanical processes as required. Provide technical assistance in ordering new molds and fixtures. Interpret engineering drawings, sketches and documentation for tool designs and concepts. Evaluate and modify designs as required; identify errors, missing information and inconsistencies; calculate geometric dimensions and tolerances. Check finished work against specifications and standards; modify when necessary. Develop accurate quotes of job hours when requested. Assure proper care and operations of tools and equipment. Identify areas for improvement in efficiency of methods and designs. Adhere to plant and department safety rules. Safely operate all equipment and tools, and wear all protective gear as required. Replace or repair worn or unsafe tools and equipment as needed. Respond to emergency production requests. Provide support as assigned. Assist in mold setups and operations; check wax patterns to tool specifications. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Complete logs and records. Provide work direction and training to less skilled personnel as assigned. Perform other tasks as directed. ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT, VEHICLES, TOOLS AND/OR MACHINERY USED: Dimensional measuring tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) Basic hand tools (e.g files, pliers, screwdrivers, etc.) Standard machining tools (e.g. x y rotary table, quill master, etc.) mills lathes grinders rotary tables saws (band, cutoff, etc.)

TRAINING

Training is provided on the job. QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of a structured training or apprenticeship program and at least two years experience as a Journey Moldmaker OR An equivalent combination of structured training and experience. Working knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation Ability to perform arithmetic calculations, including algebra, plane and solid geometry and trigonometry Ability to use dimensional measuring tools and devices. Ability to work independently with limited supervision Previous experience in the construction and operation of wax molds is desirable. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
