The role you'll contribute: Responsible for overseeing the continual operation of a specified nursing unit to ensure high-quality patient care and services. This position demonstrates critical thinking, creativity, and resource management to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. This role involves coaching, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in delivering services to the patient population. Additionally, this position monitors the quality of care delivered to patients, administers medications and treatments as prescribed, and ensures effective stewardship of resources. Responsibilities for this role include acting as a change agent, implementing necessary changes in collaboration with the Manager/Director, and maintaining respectful relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other contacts. The value you'll bring to the team: Perform venous access procedures within the scope of RN licensure, ensuring proper technique and patient safety. Administer and monitor infusion therapy treatments, adjusting care plans based on patient responses and needs. Assess patients' conditions to determine appropriate venous access methods and address any complications. Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients requiring venous access and infusion therapy. Provide patient education on venous access and infusion therapy to ensure understanding and compliance. Foster professional growth by identifying training needs, organizing educational programs, and mentoring career progression. Resolve conflicts among staff promptly and effectively using mediation techniques to maintain a positive work team cohesion. Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing patient care and operational efficiency. Mentor and precept new staff by providing hands-on training, feedback, and fostering professional development. Ensure compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies to maintain high standards of patient services and safety.
