Lead Information Assurance (IA) - Systems Administrator / Network Engineer
Job Location: NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, FL Lead Information Assurance (IA) - Systems Administrator / Network Engineer to support our Navy customer in Jacksonville, FL (onsite). We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative professional to deliver results. The Lead (IA) Systems Administrator / Network Engineer will provide technical leadership and hands-on support for the secure operation, administration, and engineering of USNAVSOUTH/FOURTHFLT networks and systems. This role serves primarily as the lead Systems Administrator and secondarily as a Network Engineer, responsible for maintaining, securing, repairing, and optimizing network infrastructure and C4I systems in accordance with DoD Information Assurance and Computer Network Defense standards. Key Responsibilities: Provide lead-level systems administration and network engineering support during normal duty hours Operate, secure, maintain, and repair network infrastructure per DoD guidance, including; switches, routers, firewall, VTC systems, servers, and TACLANE encryptors Serve as the primary Systems Administrator for C4I systems including: ENMS Lite, DCGS-N Increment 1 Block 2 (SIPR and JWICS), ADSI v15, GCCS-J 4.3 U1, Radiant Mercury (RADMERC), and VTC systems Conduct weekly vulnerability scans/patches; prepare and submit weekly compliance reports per DoD IA and CND requirements Design network architectures in compliance with DoD guidance; coordinate and document configuration/topology changes Install, configure, test, and maintain hardware and software; control current/future application releases; and document physical system configurations Optimize system and network functionality, diagnose failures, and recover critical systems Apply vendor-supplied system modifications while ensuring federal security standards are implemented Advise and troubleshoot technical issues while minimizing disruption to mission activities Install network infrastructure, equipment reallocations, and IT hardware maintenance Support interim communications solutions when required Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Required Skills and Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in Information Assurance, systems administration, or related IT fields Experience securing, operating, and maintaining Windows, Solaris, and Red Hat systems Experience with C4I systems administration and network engineering in classified environments Expertise with virtualization platforms (VMware ESX 5.5/6.0, VMware View, VMware vCenter) Hands-on experience with network and security tools, including: Cisco ASA 5515-x firewalls with IPS, routers, switches (configuration/backup/restore), Splunk configuration and operation, ACAS scanning software, Wireshark, WSUS, and What's Up Gold Proficiency with Microsoft Visio and system documentation practices Ability to develop network/system documentation and SOPs in accordance with DoD standards Certifications: CASP (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification (minimum), such as: Network+ or Security+ MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) required within 6 months of reporting Required Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance required C2 is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
