General Statement of Duties
This vacancy is open until filled. Performs skilled painting work involving buildings (interior & exterior). Applies finishes to furniture and cabinetry. Other related work as required. Minimum salary is $45,599.28 or based on promotion policy for internal candidates. 12 months, 260 days, 8 hours per day
Essential Duties
Prepares all surfaces for painting Selects the appropriate method to remove old paint from surfaces Remove graffiti using the appropriate method and supplies Refinishes and paints furniture Paints a variety of surfaces including walls, floors, ceilings and furniture Attends work daily and is engaged and on task Demonstrates self auditing practices in safety awareness and procedures Mixes materials used such as paints, stains, varnishes, enamels and lacquers Makes minor plaster repairs to walls and ceilings Paints equipment as needed Patches cracks and repaints tennis courts, gymnasium floors, etc. Performs overtime and other duties as required Minimum Qualifications
Preferably graduation from high school or a trade school and three years of painting experience Must have considerable knowledge of the practices and procedures of the painting trade and of the methods of preparing materials and surfaces for painting Must have the ability to rig and work from scaffolds A valid Virginia Operator's license is required
