Overview

A Senior Logistics Specialist plans, coordinates, and optimizes supply chain operations, including transportation, storage, and distribution of goods, to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. Key duties involve managing inventory, analyzing performance data to identify improvements, and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and company policies. Essential Functions

Prepare and process all required shipping paperwork, including bills of lading, packing slips, and compliance documents. Utilize ERP or similar systems to record and track all shipping transactions. Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams (service, buyers, engineers, etc.) to schedule pick-ups, arrange transportation, and ensure timely deliveries. Proactively identify and resolve issues such as shipping delays, damages, or non-conformances. Investigate problems and implement corrective actions to minimize disruption. Ensure all shipping activities, including handling of hazardous materials, adhere to regulatory and customs standards. Communicate proactively with appropriate teams regarding order status, tracking details, and delivery schedules to ensure satisfaction. Continuously evaluate shipping processes to identify opportunities for streamlining, cost reduction, and improved efficiency. Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and tracking numbers; participate in cycle counts and audits as needed. Plan, manage, and execute the custom crating of products with non-standard packaging and vapor barrier sealing, ensuring safe handling. Analyze performance data, track KPIs, and generate reports to provide insights to management and identify areas for improvement. Identify opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and resolve issues related to shipping and logistics operations. Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to logistics team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Work closely with suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to ensure seamless collaboration and communication. Track and maintain all service site tooling and non-inventory items. Assist in training new hires on shipping processes. Assist in warehouse logistics as needed. Perform other functions necessary to meet Mevion goals. Education, Training, And Experience

Requires approximately 8+ years of related experience in shipping or logistics. Proficiency with ERP systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and data entry. Excellent communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with shipping regulations and international trade compliance requirements. DOT Certification. IATA Certification. Hoisting Engineer, HE-3A Electric or Air Powered Massachusetts License. Experience in shipping hazardous materials (HAZMAT). PIT certification for forklifts, scissor jacks, and Crown Wave order pickers. Experience in crating products with custom non-standard packaging with vapor barrier sealing. Physical And Environmental Considerations

Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time. Required use of standard office equipment including laptop, phone, copier, etc. Typical office environment. Must be able to walk through the factory environment safely. May be involved in light rigging operations. Must be able to work in confined spaces, and spaces which may require the use of a harness. Ability to lift 25-pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet. Ability to push and pull heavy pallets with a hand truck. Able to reach and bend. Seniority level
