Kaftan is looking for a Leasing Consultant. The Leasing Consultant is a company ambassador between the public, tenants of the property, and property team members. The ideal candidate will ensure that the property is maintained effectively for leasing activities, market the community to prospective residents, and complete screening policies for prospective applicants. They will oversee and coordinate the orientation of new residents and assist with office management and clerical tasks. They will maintain favorable relations with all property team members and residents, contribute to a positive office atmosphere, and portray a positive image of the company. Responsibilities Meet potential renters and guide them on tours of available units. Ensure model or vacant units are ready for show. Lease apartments at the highest effective rental level possible while maintaining excellent customer service and satisfaction. Verify applicant data, perform background and credit checks, and assess qualification. Qualify potential residents prior to final application approval. Respond promptly and courteously to resident requests and resolve issues. Follow up on leads for potential renters. Keep residents informed of changes to rental agreements or property issues. Complete lease documents accurately and timely. Maintain organized resident files per company policy. Enter all resident data into the property management system according to policy. Inspect apartments prior to move-in to ensure readiness. Assist in developing and maintaining resident retention and renewal programs. Stay current with rental values and amenities of competing communities. Handle rent collection, security deposits, and application fees. Ensure community facilities are well maintained. Assist in preparing competitive market survey reports.
