Procurement Specialist / Buyer
and gain real-world experience in purchasing, supplier management, contract administration, and logistics. This SkillBridge program is designed to equip you with in-demand procurement skills, certifications, and hands-on training to prepare you for a smooth transition into a civilian procurement career.
Role Overview
As a Procurement Specialist, you will support the purchasing and supply chain functions by managing purchase orders, evaluating suppliers, coordinating transportation, tracking shipments, and assisting with contract management. You will also collaborate closely with Billing, Operations, and the Supply Chain team to ensure materials and services are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Execute purchase orders and manage supplier relationships Arrange transportation and track inbound/outbound shipments Support contract administration and provide documentation as needed Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with materials or returns Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Billing, Operations, Material Handling, Supply Chain Manager) Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records Training Highlights
Procurement processes and safety compliance Supplier selection and evaluation Purchase order management and transportation logistics Inventory management and replenishment strategies Customer service and issue resolution Contract management and administrative support Certifications Earned
Procurement Specialist Training Certificate Supply Chain / Procurement Management Certificate (if applicable) Hours toward additional procurement or logistics certifications Ideal Candidate
Must be an active-duty service member approved to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program. Applicants who are not currently active-duty military cannot be considered. Strong organizational and communication skills Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Interest in logistics, procurement, or supply chain management Eager to build a civilian career in purchasing and supplier management
