Overview Works under the supervision of Clinical Manager in coordinating/ scheduling client care for private care services as well as assisting with office administrative tasks. The Lead C. N. A. also acts as a mentor to other care staff and provides client care when needed due to staffing needs. The Lead C. N. A. may provide personal care, comfort measures and environmental services of the clients(including those needing special precautions) and performs specified treatments. In addition, this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure. Promotes and maintains safe work environment for staff as well as our customers, incorporating national patient safety initiatives. The Lead Certified Nursing Assistant (C. N. A. ) may be required to work weekends and holidays as needed. Will perform other duties as assigned. "
What you will do
Coordinates and schedules client care for private care services. Provides office administrative support to include maintaining the department filing system (client records, committee minutes, call book updates, attendance logs, current employee information), agency phone lists, and other agency liaisons, etc. Ensures availability of resources (equipment, instruments, supplies) necessary to ensure positive patient outcomes. Maintains clean, safe and orderly work/patient environment by cleaning work stations/areas, equipment, stocking supplies, and placing equipment in proper storage areas. Works in staffing and provides personal care, comfort measures, environmental services, and specified treatments. Follows the plan of care that assures patients receive consistent, competent, and ethical care, within legal standards of practice, while maintaining privacy and support for the patient's value system. Provides care consistent with both verbal and/or written instructions. Understands assigned plans of care within appropriate scope of practice and responsibilities as directed by the RN/LPN to include accurately completing all required documentation. Performs general receptionist duties for the department including answering the telephone, referring calls, screening calls, taking messages, receiving initial referral intake, etc. Assures appropriate clerical support is given to the field staff on a daily basis. Assist with other general office administrative tasks as assigned. Coordinates and maintains staffing schedules for assigned areas. Participates in On-Call Program for scheduling issues as assigned. Responsible for updating and maintaining On-Call book weekly. Maintains In-Home Private Care staffing schedules/logs to include number of hours, days and types of services provided as well as maintains and updates On-Call Book. Mentors and participates in training and support of all team members, volunteers and students as needed. Qualifications
Education
Program Graduate, Nurse Aide Training or Certificate Program approved by VA Board of Nursing (Required) Experience
1 year Prior Nurse Aide work experience in a home care setting (Required) Licenses and Certifications
Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) (Required) CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required) Drives personal vehicle for RHS business 25% or more of the time to perform essential functions of the job Valid Drivers License Required
