Responsibilities
Primarily involved with assisting staff with field tasks supporting geotechnical projects Some office work will be performed as you begin to learn about the life cycle of the project Documenting site observations for geotechnical field work and any construction materials testing (CMT) work performed Field responsibilities may include assisting with or performing the following with supervision:
Perform boring and test pit layouts Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances Perform research on local geologic history Assist with supervision of field work performed by drilling/test pit crews and assist with rig access issues Perform in-situ testing Classify soils Keep project staff informed of changing site conditions and/or additional testing requested on project sites
Office responsibilities may include assisting with or performing the following with supervision for training and development purposes:
Reduction of geotechnical field data Assisting with tasks supporting management of projects with respect to budget and collection efforts Assisting with tasks supporting the preparation of reports, proposals, and invoicing
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Earth Sciences, Engineering Technology, or related field is preferred 2 years of related experience Certifications are required for all types of testing performed. Any applicable certifications are required in accordance with the Technician Certification and Pay Policy. If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.
