Maintenance Worker
Full-time - Glen Cove

When a group of families came together in 1957 to find services for their children with developmental disabilities, ACLD was born. Today, we are a leading not-for-profit agency employing 1300+ staff and providing over 80 program sites in Nassau and Suffolk. ACLD assists children, teens and adults in reaching the highest level of independence with the freedom to ASPIRE HIGHER in their hopes, dreams and accomplishments. We are currently seeking a few exceptional people who have a passion to create a meaningful impact in the lives of the amazing people we support.
In this role, you will:
Complete all assigned work, paperwork and projects in a timely manner.
Complete all schedules (listed in maintenance manual) and any additional items required for program and/or building certifications.
Ensure that the building and grounds are maintained in a manner that ensures maximum safety and cleanliness including removal of all internal and external debris, set up and breakdown for all meetings and maintaining the staff lounge area as well as cleaning of bathrooms
Complete seasonal preventative maintenance projects such as power washing, landscaping and snow removal as assigned.
We require:
Clean, valid NYS driver’s license.
Prior experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical or other related building trades.
The ability to work at various heights while using extension ladders to access roofs, lighting etc., and ability to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Verbal/written communication skills including the ability to provide or obtain information, to interpret and advise to clarify understanding.
Strong reasoning skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
This is a full-time position (Monday – Friday 9am – 4:30pm), 35 hours per week
It is eligible for medical/dental and has a generous paid-time off package .
