AWS Cryptography and Identity are building and delivering the next generation of cloud computing security. We are innovating new ways of building massively scalable distributed security systems involving identity management, federation, web services security, and much more. We enable our customers to control some of the most sensitive secrets on the internet. In this role, you will join a team of highly talented engineers operating Cryptography and Identity systems. A successful systems engineer should be focused on troubleshooting complex system operations, not just on a server level but enterprise wide. You should also have a solid foundation in multiple operating systems, networking, and general knowledge of cloud services. You will work with Amazon's largest and most demanding customers to address specific needs across a full suite of services. You will dive deep into technical issues and work diligently to improve the customer experience. AWS Utility Computing (UC) provides product innovations - from foundational services such as Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS's services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you'll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (IoT), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services. This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the candidate to opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work. Basic Qualifications
Cloud+ or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner) 3+ years of systems administration experience Linux/Unix (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat, Solaris etc) in production environments. 1+ years of experience working with scripting languages. Experience with DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP, TCP/IP and other common network protocols Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl) Experience developing distributed service applications & developing user experiences scenarios Excellent analytical ability and communications skills Strong interpersonal relationship skills Working experience and good understanding of the AWS environment, including VPC, EC2, EBS, S3, SQS, Cloud Formation and Lambda. Proven ability to troubleshoot and identify the root cause of issues. A history of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in a dynamic environment. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $216,500/year in our highest geographic market.
