Job Summary

R.W. Communications in Harrisburg, PA, is seeking a seasoned Low Voltage Technician to join our team. As part of our team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining voice and data communication networks across commercial, industrial, and healthcare environments.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position that includes a company vehicle and gas card after a short probationary period.

Responsibilities:

Follow all safety rules and regulations.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following codes and standards.

Install, terminate, splice, and maintain copper and fiber cabling.

Document networks by labeling equipment, recording configuration diagrams, and maintaining equipment inventory.

Install, terminate, and test telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and alarm systems, as well as control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.

Conduct routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on communication systems and equipment.

Maintain customer rapport by addressing concerns and answering questions.

Collaborate with other professionals to ensure efficient and effective communication across the organization.

Travel, including possible overnight stays.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Technical School Diploma (or equivalent).

Clear Driver's License (no more than 3 points).

2 or more years’ experience in telecommunications, data networking, security, electrical, or related fields.

Strong understanding of telecommunications systems, with the ability to articulate and implement said systems.

The ability to operate industry-related tools, equipment, and certification devices for both electrical and low voltage systems.

Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and to navigate construction sites, including climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, working at heights, and lifting objects up to eighty pounds.

Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, humidity, and moderate noise levels.

Professional appearance and courteous personality

Preferred Qualifications:

BICSI or equivalent certifications.

5 or more years of industry experience.
