We are seeking a dedicated Medical Surgical/Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a rotating night shift schedule. As a critical member of our nursing staff, you will provide high-quality care for adults battling cancer, as well as patients undergoing medical and surgical interventions. Key Responsibilities:
Deliver nursing care to a 29-bed unit with medical, surgical, and oncology patients. Float to other departments as needed while maintaining scope of practice. Perform telemetry monitoring and administer blood products. Assist with chemotherapy administration, central line draws, and care of implanted ports. Educate patients and families on oncological processes and palliative care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care. Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a clinical setting. Experience with oncology preferred, but not required for strong candidates. Telemetry experience and competent in central line draws and blood administration. Patient Ratios:
Days: 4-5 patients per nurse Nights: 5-6 patients per nurse Certifications Required:
Current BLS certification. ONC certification preferred. Chemo administration skills are preferred. Unit and Facility Details:
Type: Level IV Trauma Center, Major teaching hospital. Total Staffed Beds: 838. Charting System: Cerner. Free parking for travelers. Submission Requirements:
