2 East Medical Observation Unit Position
2 East is a 14-bed medical observation unit and an 8-bed observation area where patients come for additional assessment and testing to determine inpatient admission vs. discharge where the length of stay is 48 hours or less. We take pride in our teamwork and the quality care we deliver to our patients. On 2 East, we work closely with the MOU hospitalist and care team to provide safe and proficient care to our patients. A new member to our team should have strong critical thinking, assessment, and clinical decision-making skills. Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services, and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record. This position requires a full week of corporate orientation. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm. You will be required to attend the entire week consecutively. Qualifications
