Job Title
Seeking a creative, highly motivated, agile thinker with a passion for automation. The ideal candidate has a background in or exposure with electrical or computer engineering with strong programming skills and can perform at a high level in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing facility. This person shall be comfortable supporting manufacturing processes on the production floor. As a Controls Engineer you will be addressing production issues alongside quality, manufacturing, and maintenance teams. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain and improve existing production processes by using continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques. What You'll Do (Responsibilities): New program implementation/execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off and buyoff). Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement. Maintaining awareness of new controls technologies (PLC, HMI, networks, robot, vision) of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts. Managing deliveries to program timing milestones. Providing project report outs to senior management. Existing program/site support (troubleshooting, etc.). Providing technical direction to less experienced controls engineers. Designing and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems. Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): Bachelor's Degree with a major in Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): 1-3 years of Controls experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in industrial networking protocols Profibus, Profinet, TCP/IP, and EtherNetIP. HMI Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell FactoryTalk View. PLC Rockwell ControlLogix and/or Siemens 300 families. Servo drive systems Siemens G120 and S120 families, and Rockwell Powerflex and Kinetix. This position will require overtime and off-shift production support. Vision Cameras: Fanuc IR Vision, Dataman, Cognex/Insight. Fanuc or Siemens CNC experience. Fanuc Robot Programming experience. Experience with Vision Tool and Die Cast shot end controllers.
