HVAC Maintenance Mechanic

We are currently seeking a dynamic and skilled HVAC Maintenance Mechanic to join our Department. Under the supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, performs inspection, installation, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of refrigeration systems, air conditioning units, evaporative coolers, exhaust fans, and ventilation equipment. Conducts scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure optimal efficiency of all heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Work requires proficiency across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, sheet metal, refrigeration, cooling tower maintenance, and tower water treatment. Responsibilities

Understands the theories and practices of refrigeration systems: Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs refrigeration equipment and applies those theories and practices to maintain and repair associated refrigeration equipment. Understands the theories and practices of electrical systems: Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs the electrical components of HVAC systems and equipment applies those theories and practices to maintain and repair associated HVAC electrical equipment. Understands the theories and practices of mechanical aspect of HVAC systems: Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs the mechanical aspect of HVAC systems and equipment applies those theories and practices to maintain and repair associated HVAC equipment. Repairs, maintains and troubleshoots HVAC systems and building management systems using control theory and practice. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and manipulate building automation system. Conducts audits of system performance and makes adjustments to maintain an efficient operating system. Performs assigned tasks with high quality workmanship by performing preventative maintenance on assigned equipment. Completes assigned tasks and communicates properly utilizing verbal and written skills. Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Four (4) years of experience in installation repair and maintenance of small and large capacity commercial type of HVAC equipment. This includes air conditioning, evaporative cooling, exhaust and ventilation equipment. Trade school education with specialized training in HVAC. EPA universal refrigeration.
