6-Month Contract-to-hire General Purpose

As an Operational Technology (OT) Security Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity guardrails that safeguard manufacturing operations from threats and vulnerabilities. Your work will directly protect the integrity, availability, and resilience of our OT and ICS environments. Key Responsibilities

Develop and enforce cybersecurity standards, procedures, and controls for manufacturing plant environments, including physical security, network segmentation, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Partner with manufacturing sites, engineering, and IT teams to integrate cybersecurity measures across facilities. Analyze OT architectures to identify security gaps and recommend improvements. Develop and maintain OT-specific cybersecurity documentation (risk registers, dashboards, reports). Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments leveraging frameworks such as NIST CSF, NIST 800-82, ISO 27001, and ISA/IEC 62443. Develop and oversee vulnerability detection and remediation programs for OT systems; perform vulnerability testing and implement mitigation strategies. Continuously monitor OT systems for unusual activity and potential intrusions using advanced monitoring tools. Build and maintain OT incident response plans, including detection, response, and recovery procedures; lead investigations of OT-related cybersecurity incidents. Enhance cybersecurity risk management policies, procedures, and tools with a focus on OT security; stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends. Conduct cybersecurity awareness programs for plant employees and ensure compliance with OT standards and best practices. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis. 3+ years of experience in information security, IT, or ICS engineering. Experience with OT/ICS security technologies, architectures, and threat landscapes; deploying firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, monitoring, and server administration. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong understanding of cybersecurity threats (e.g., ransomware, DoS) and mitigation strategies. Proficiency with OT/ICS frameworks: NIST CSF, NIST 800-82, ISA/IEC 62443, ISO 27001. Familiarity with SCADA, PLC, and HMI architectures and programming. Knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server/Desktop, AWS, and Azure security controls. Exceptional knowledge of network protocols, standards, and system flow concepts. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts across technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and balance priorities between IT and OT stakeholders. Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and execute effectively in emergency situations. Commitment to documentation, detail orientation, and continuous process improvement.
