Information Technology and Assurance Support Specialist II
Level II -
In addition to TS/SCI Clearance, prior SAP is required. The primary function of an Information Technology/Information Assurance II is working within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, such as HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), and Military Compartments efforts. The position will provide day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP activities. Performance shall include: Establish complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces for assigned computer systems. Maintain file servers, firewalls, network access, security monitoring systems, and system documentation. Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimal equipment performance. Prepare systems for operational use and support operational tests. Review, prepare, and update authorization packages. Notify customers of changes affecting authorization accreditation. Conduct cybersecurity portion of self-inspection checklists. Review and coordinate on all Bodies of Evidence for authorization packages. Identify vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures. Operate, maintain, and dispose of information systems and network appliances in accordance with security policies. Provide external information system client support. Perform account management activities across authorization boundaries. Configure, upgrade, and modify hardware/software systems. Patch system and network appliances. Assist in media control and accountability activities. Manage COMSEC accounts and equipment. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2, Exchange Server 2010/2016, Windows 7/10 OS, and related hardware. Knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, data backup, and communication security (COMSEC). Understanding of Risk Management Framework, SCI Security Standards, Common Criteria, and Assessment and Authorization processes. Experience with PL2 systems; familiarity with PL3 & PL4 cross-domain solutions is preferred. Additional Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly. Experience: Minimum 5+ years in related roles. SAP experience is required. Previous roles as System or Network Administrator, or IT/Information Assurance Specialist preferred. Education: Bachelors degree or an Associates degree plus 2 years of experience, or equivalent experience (total 4 years). Certifications: IAT or IAM Level II within 6 months of hire (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, SSCP, CySA+). Clearance to start: TS/SCI clearance required. Eligibility for access to SAP information.
