Quality Engineer Senior

You will be the Quality Engineer Senior for Lockheed Martin's THAAD business area at Pike County Operations in Troy, AL. Our team is responsible for ensuring the quality of manufactured products, and you will play a key role in providing Quality Engineer support, developing and reviewing quality standards, and analyzing quality data. As the Quality Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for leading quality initiatives, analyzing complex quality issues, and driving continuous improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production operations, quality, manufacturing engineering, and material support center staff, to ensure that quality standards are met and products are delivered to customers on time. Your responsibilities will include: Provide Quality Engineer support for the THAAD business area, including developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, and procedures Analyze quality data on failures, yields, rework, scrap, and non-conformance aging, and identify trends and areas for improvement Participate in Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards to disposition non-conforming hardware and identify root causes Perform assessments and audits to ensure compliance with specifications, engineering drawings, procedures, and ISO-9001/AS9100 Evaluate design assurance activities and implement production process methodology improvements to mitigate production quality and velocity impacts Interface with customers, suppliers, and program personnel on quality-related issues, and utilize lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement Make final decisions on product acceptability, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place Develop, modify, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols, and devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating products and production equipment As a highly experienced and skilled quality professional, you will thrive in this role as a Quality Engineer Senior. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance. A company-sponsored interim secret is required to start. Basic Qualifications: STEM degree at the Bachelor's level or above, or equivalent experience/combined education Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance and must have an interim clearance prior to starting Ability to analyze and resolve design, manufacturing, and process issues varying from basic to very complex and technically challenging Experience working non-conformance issues through to root cause and corrective/preventive action Knowledge of AS9100 Quality systems Knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection Effective communication and presentation skills Ability to work with and around explosives Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite Experienced in using various inspection measurement tools Demonstrated ability to coordinate verification activity (BVP, PVP, or equivalent) with Orlando and government quality teams Ability to work (non-standard) hours as needed Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") background check to obtain approval to be an "employee possessor" (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment Desired Skills: STEM degree at the Bachelor's level or above preferred Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt / Black Belt) Experience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipment ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CSQ) and/or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) Defense contractor or military contractor experience Strong background in a DOD Quality Engineering area Customer Relationship Management skills Experience working with Government customers SAP Application experience and or dispositioning QNotes Experience with Manufacturing Readiness Assessments and the evaluation of Manufacturing Readiness Levels Demonstrated Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance Skill In-depth knowledge of Quality Engineering methods, processes, and tools Demonstrated use of standard problem solving, troubleshooting tools, and root cause analysis skills Ability to perform support functions and make appropriate quality decisions Experienced in reading and interpreting drawings and standards in order to develop inspection methods via work instructions Experience in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration. Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
