HIRING: Jr. Resident Engineer - NYC Parks Projects
Join a mission-driven team improving NYC's green infrastructure. We're seeking a Resident Engineer to oversee two active Parks Department projects focused on sidewalk reconstruction and urban tree health. This is a hands-on field role with daily site visits across one borough, blending civil oversight with environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct daily inspections across up to 10 active sites
Manage contractor performance on planting, excavation, concrete restoration, and punch list items
Ensure safety compliance and proper PPE usage
Track pay items (e.g., tree counts, excavation volumes) and submit daily field reports
Coordinate staffing and site coverage with the Project Manager
Maintain clear, professional communication with city clients
What You Bring
Degree in forestry, horticulture, arboriculture, civil engineering, or construction management
1-3+ years of relevant field experience (tree care, landscaping, or civil site work)
Strong knowledge of plant species and urban tree practices
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
Independent, proactive mindset with solid reporting skills
Personal vehicle for borough-based travel
Work Environment
Field-based across NYC's five boroughs (typically assigned to one)
Ground-level work-no climbing or active roadway exposure
Standard hours: 7 AM to 3 PM
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
