Overview
The AWS Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking an experienced ProServe Cloud Architect (PCA) to join AWS. In this role, you'll work with customers to understand technical requirements and business objectives, designing and implementing tailored cloud solutions. You'll be a key player in the pre-sales process, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the customer's cloud journey. You will create and lead the solution design to address customer business outcomes (CBOs), acting as the conduit between ProServe Account Executives and Shared Delivery Teams (SDT) to ensure proposed solutions are realistic and achievable, and to optimize ProServe and/or partner impact on CBOs. As a PCA you are a trusted advisor on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions to address customer challenges, and you will share knowledge through mentoring, training, reusable artifacts, and process improvements. Your experience designing technical solutions in the technology/consulting sector will enable you to architect complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to each customer, translating technical concepts into business value. Success in this role is linked to impacting SOWs and the successful implementation of solutions that achieve CBOs while exceeding customer satisfaction (CSAT). The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team that helps customers realize their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives, providing guidance through a portfolio of offerings and focused guidance via global specialty practices across solutions, technologies, and industries. Designing complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions to deliver customer business outcomes (CBOs) Providing technical guidance and best practices during pre-sales and implementation phases Collaborating with Account Managers and Shared Delivery Teams to ensure proposed solutions are realistic and achievable Acting as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies Sharing knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts About the team

5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, designing and implementing cloud solutions Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience Strong hands-on development experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) and data technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis) 3+ years of experience with AWS service suite, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), security tools and frameworks, and compliance automation tools Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced technology degree or AWS Professional level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional) Deep understanding of AWS services across compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies Knowledge of security and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) Expertise in performance optimization and cost management for cloud environments Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences as part of pre-sales motion Experience in technical pre-sales and mission-focused solution architecture, with demonstrated ability to drive revenue through technical leadership Previous experience supporting federal/defense customers with complex enterprise cloud migrations and modernization initiatives, including classified environments Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market.
