Quality Assurance Manager
The QA Manager provides leadership for the facility’s quality assurance and sanitation programs, ensuring all products meet customer expectations and comply with USDA, FDA, and other regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for food safety, sanitation performance, regulatory compliance, audits, and staff development.
Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager
Oversee facility performance in food safety, quality, and sanitation
Develop and manage food safety programs, including recalls, HACCP, and Preventive Controls
Act as primary contact for regulatory officials, customers, and third-party auditors
Lead customer, regulatory, and third-party audits, implementing corrective actions as needed
Ensure compliance with specifications for raw materials, WIP, and finished products
Develop and maintain SSOPs, sanitation, and quality systems
Train and manage QA and sanitation staff to meet compliance and testing standards
Prepare and manage QA and sanitation budgets with focus on efficiency and improvement
Conduct internal audits, track KPIs, and drive continuous process improvements
Partner with suppliers and customers to resolve product or service issues
Requirements of the Quality Assurance Manager
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
10+ years of progressive QA experience in perishable or frozen food manufacturing, including 5+ years in management
Strong USDA manufacturing experience and knowledge of FDA (FSMA) and USDA regulations
Expertise in HACCP, Preventive Controls, SSOPs, allergens, and product traceability
Experience with GFSI certification programs (BRC, SQF)
Proven leadership, team development, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills; bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
Proficient with Microsoft Office and QA reporting systems
1st shift,
DIRECT HIRE
Pay is $105,000 - $115,000 annually, based on experience
