EOG Resources
This position will report to the Midland Division Facilities and Pipeline department. The GIS Analyst is responsible for providing support to the Land Department and others as needed by digitizing, analyzing, and storing oil/gas lease data in the form of shapefiles and geodatabase files. The position is also responsible for assisting and implementing GIS workflow procedures within the Midland division. Other duties may include, but are not limited to, building map exhibits for various individuals within EOG as it pertains to special projects, complying data for trades and/or divestures, reviewing oil/gas lease contracts, and preparing PowerPoint presentations.
Responsibilities
Digitize, analyze, and store oil/gas lease data as shapefiles and geodatabase files to support the Land Department and others.
Assist and implement GIS workflow procedures within the Midland division.
Build map exhibits for various individuals within EOG for special projects.
Prepare data for trades and/or divestitures.
Review oil/gas lease contracts.
Prepare PowerPoint presentations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Cartography, or closely related field strongly preferred.
3-5 years experience working in GIS; oil & gas/land experience preferred.
3-5 years experience utilizing ArcGIS.
Familiar with shapefiles, geodatabases, and ArcSDE.
Basic knowledge of ArcToolbox, ArcCatalog, and related GIS tools/products.
Ability to take on and maintain workflows for multiple projects at any given time.
Ability to interpret difficult legal descriptions and integrate other data to provide polygons as needed.
Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work activities.
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.
