Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Pediatric Dialysis Pay: $55–$60/hr (paid weekly) Positions Available: 2 Job Type: This position is a W2 contract assignment (13 weeks to start with opportunity for continuous extensions based on attendance and performance)

Location & Shift Details:

Onsite in Grand Rapids, MI 49503

Outpatient dialysis unit and acute dialysis services for a children’s hospital

Shift: Days (6:30am–5:00pm)

Shift Length: 10 hours

Weekend Rotation: Variable

On Call: Yes

Scrub Color: Navy Blue

Job Summary

The Pediatric Dialysis RN delivers safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in accordance with professional standards established by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legal requirements of the State of Michigan. This role involves supporting both outpatient pediatric dialysis and acute inpatient dialysis services. The RN applies critical thinking through the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide high-quality patient care and achieve optimal outcomes.

The nurse upholds professional performance standards including ethical practice, culturally congruent care, communication, leadership, collaboration, education, research, and environmental health.

Key Responsibilities

Provide evidence-based nursing care aligned with the interprofessional plan of care and regulatory standards.

Serve as a patient and family advocate, ensuring compassionate, respectful, and culturally sensitive care.

Assess patient/family needs, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate progress toward outcomes.

Educate patients and families on dialysis care and discharge planning.

Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity and coordination of care.

Accurately document all care and interventions in a timely manner.

Delegate appropriately to support staff while maintaining accountability for patient care.

Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and continuing education to enhance professional practice.

Education & Experience

Required: Associate’s Degree in Nursing

Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program.

Strong communication, time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain confidentiality.

Computer literacy required.

Licenses & Certifications

RN License (State of Michigan)

BLS (AHA or ARC)

PALS (AHA)

Specialty certification – Preferred
