As a Lead or Principal Robotics Engineer Systems Architecture, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and owning the overarching architecture that brings together Lilas robotics hardware, firmware, perception, control, and AI systems. Youll define the interfaces, abstraction layers, and integration patterns that enable our platforms to scaletechnically and operationally. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role where youll work directly with teams across software, hardware, product, and operations to ensure the entire system behaves predictably, performantly, and robustly in real-world settings. Define and evolve the system architecture for Lilas robotic platforms Specify system requirements and validation plans Design and maintain subsystem interfaces Lead system-level trade studies and architectural reviews Collaborate with cross-functional leads to enable integration and reduce risk Guide safety analyses and performance evaluations Produce architectural diagrams and documentation Influence future generations of robotic platforms Mentor engineers in architectural design and systems thinking What Youll Need to Succeed B.S, M.S, or Ph.D. in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in robotics with 3+ years in system architecture Proven track record in architecting robotic or mechatronic systems Deep domain expertise in embedded systems, robot software, and controls Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g. Isaac Sim) Strong communication and documentation skills Experience with safety and functional reliability standards Lila Sciences is committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
