Here, you will make an impact by: Demonstrate safe work behaviors to avoid injury to self and others Diagnose, troubleshoot, and determine root causes of failures and eliminate equipment problems Analyze maintenance and equipment performance data to identify and implement means for improving reliability, uptime, and quality of product Know and apply the operating principles, purpose, proper application, and design limitations of electrical power distribution system components and elements Read and work to indicated accuracy, specifications, and tolerances as detailed on engineering drawings, machine assembly prints, machine construction prints, blueprints, sketches, equipment manuals, and vendor diagrams, using both U.S. customary and SI (metric) systems of measurements Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Possess or in the last six months of obtaining a two-year technical degree (completed and verified prior to start) in a maintenance or electro-mechanic field OR High school diploma/GED (completed prior to start) AND five (5) or more years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. AND Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, on-call rotation for weekends and holidays, and holidays as needed. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Two-year degree in Mechatronics, Systems Controls, Fluid Power, or equivalent field of study and five years of maintenance experience A strong multi-craft aptitude in a manufacturing environment Problem solving/reasoning ability Good organizational and planning skills Self-motivated, team orientated, and good interpersonal skills Continuous improvement mindset Ability to lift/carry heavy materials Ability to comprehend, understand, and apply written and verbal directions from standard operating procedures, safety rules and supervisor coaching Ability to wear personal protective equipment in accordance with safety rules Work location: New Ulm, MN Travel: May include up to 5% domestic Relocation Assistance: Is Not Authorized Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
