Murphy Oil is currently seeking an innovative Enterprise Architect to play a key role in shaping and driving our digital future. This is a critical individual contributor role that requires a business savvy IT professional to influence business strategy, current and future enterprise architecture state, operations, and innovative technology trends that could be deployed at Murphy in the effort to continue impactful digital transformations across the organization. This role will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote. Responsibilities Proactively identify disruptive forces, influence strategic response and digital transformation investments. Analyze market trends, business models, and operating models to assess strategic impact Facilitate alignment between business strategy and technology execution, creating actionable enterprise roadmaps Develop and articulate the value proposition of enterprise architecture as an internal consultancy Engage stakeholders through tailored consulting services, fostering agile and collaborative environments Facilitate cross-functional dialogue among business leaders, IT stakeholders, and architecture teams Develop business architectures, diagnostic deliverables, and implementation roadmaps to guide strategic investments Align future-state capabilities with current environments to identify and address critical gaps Oversee architecture activities across projects and initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment Scan and analyze disruptive trends and emerging technologies, recommending innovation opportunities Lead pilot projects to integrate innovative solutions into operations Provide strategic guidance on leveraging technological disruptions effectively Champion the adoption of cloud technologies and other emerging industry trends Conduct bi-weekly technology reviews and champion new technology requests and recommendations Document and govern enterprise architecture standards, principles, patterns, and best practices Develop and maintain comprehensive reference architectures and architecture repositories Perform application rationalization to optimize technology assets and enhance efficiency Conduct gap analyses and deliver comprehensive IT investment roadmaps Qualifications/Requirements Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Minimum 10 years' experience in strategic business planning, enterprise architecture consulting, or related disciplines Extensive expertise in at least three domains such as business, information, solution architecture, application development, or IT operations Deep knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) Proven strategic thinking, capable of executing complex, multi-year digital transformation programs Strong leadership abilities with a record of influencing senior executives and guiding architectural decisions Extensive experience leading major transformation initiatives (e.g., cloud migrations, modernization, geographic expansion) Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and innovation-driven skills Effective global collaboration experience and strong communication and stakeholder management Familiarity with cybersecurity, resilience strategies, and emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI) is desirable Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in relevant discipline preferred Certification in at least one Enterprise Architecture framework (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.) Familiarity with cybersecurity, resilience strategies, and emerging technologies (e.g., GenAI) is desirable The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs.
