The Physical Security Specialist is primarily responsible for the development, implementation, oversight, and administration of the Bank’s physical security program to ensure the safety and security of our customers, employees, and physical assets. The role includes developing and managing budgets related to the physical security program, analyzing data and providing recommendations around physical security protocols, developing and managing the regional security liaison team, delivering security training to all bank staff, and establishing and enforcing security policies and procedures to protect employees, visitors, and property. Responsibilities
Security Program Administration Develop, update, and administer the bank’s physical security program ensuring compliance with the Bank Protection Act and other relevant laws and regulations Evaluate and recommend security technologies to enhance the bank’s security posture and mitigate risks Develop and maintain security policies, programs, procedures and guidelines Develop, evaluate, and control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses Identify, train, and monitor regional security liaison team to ensure compliance with bank security policies, protocols, and procedures Develop and monitor internal processes for bank employees regarding physical security concerns and incidents Coordinate and conduct on-site security assessments and consultations at bank locations, and provide tailored recommendations and solutions Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when responding to emergencies and alarms Evaluate and provide recommendations for improvements to security training, security systems and equipment, including implementation of new technology Ensure required periodic training under the Bank Protection Act is completed for all employees Maintain accurate records of all security technology configurations, maintenance, and testing Perform comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential security threats and develop mitigation strategies Create reports for senior management and the board on the physical security program Qualifications
Required Skills & Education Strong leadership skills to manage the security process, instilling discipline and ensuring adherence to security protocols and procedures Ability to develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive security strategies and programs Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills to respond effectively to emergency situations and security incidents Experience with various security technologies, including surveillance systems, alarms, access control systems, and security software Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several tasks simultaneously Understanding of risk management and ability to conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Experience in providing training and conducting security drills to prepare employees for potential security threats Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to bank locations as needed Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field 5 years of experience in physical security management, law enforcement, or a related field, preferably in a financial institution In-depth knowledge of physical security principles, practices, and technologies Knowledge of state and federal security regulations Who We Are
