Job Title: Construction QA Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction QA Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting a wide range of civil, geotechnical engineering, and water resources projects. Your work will have a significant impact on ecosystems, watersheds, and communities through projects such as canals, reservoirs, stormwater treatment areas, pump stations, and more.

Responsibilities

Implement, interpret, and apply technical specifications and construction drawings.

Participate in project construction meetings, providing updates and identifying potential problems.

Manage and convey change orders, field orders, and value engineering proposals.

Prepare responses to contractor requests for information and clarifications.

Maintain time and production records, analyze construction schedules, and monitor progress.

Communicate proposed design modifications to the Engineer-of-Record professionally.

Review and process contractor pay requests and cost-loaded schedules.

Prepare reports, work plans, and health and safety documents.

Organize and document progress meetings, including agendas and minutes.

Review and edit field documentation and prepare sampling plans and test data summaries.

Evaluate field and laboratory test results for compliance with specifications.

Assist with verification of project completion milestones and contract closeout.

Establish and maintain field offices for accurate and organized project records.

Identify project staffing requirements and maintain personnel schedules.

Collaborate with project personnel to ensure an integrated team approach.

Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures.

Essential Skills

High School Diploma and 15 years of relevant heavy civil construction management experience, or associate degree/college diploma with 11 years of experience, or bachelor's degree in a related field with 9 years of experience.

Experience managing large multi-task construction projects.

Proficiency with Microsoft Windows-based software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint) and construction management platforms like Trimble e-Builder.

Technical proficiency in site civil engineering, construction quality control/assurance, and construction management for heavy civil projects.

Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven testing.

Valid U.S. driver's license and reliable transportation for business travel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Leading teams including junior engineers, technicians, and inspectors.

Experience with construction management or inspection in heavy civil earthworks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr.
