Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced
Controls Engineer
with strong technical expertise in
PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS/DeltaV
platforms to develop and implement advanced automation solutions. This role requires a blend of
technical leadership, hands-on engineering, and project management
to design, implement, and optimize control systems for industrial processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working directly with clients, leading project teams, and ensuring successful automation solution deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement automation solutions
using
PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS/DeltaV
platforms.
Develop
control system architectures , select components, and create schematic diagrams.
Program controllers using
Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text , and other .
Develop HMI/SCADA systems using
VBA, .NET, SQL, and Python
for visualization and data analysis.
Configure and troubleshoot
industrial networking
(Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.).
Oversee
project management tasks , including budgeting, scheduling, and team coordination.
Lead engineering teams in
control system design, implementation, and commissioning .
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for
automation and industrial control systems .
Develop and maintain system documentation, including testing and validation procedures.
Provide technical mentoring to junior engineers and support ongoing team development.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree
in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
8+ years of experience
in
industrial automation, control system design, and implementation .
Expertise in
Emerson DeltaV ,
PLC-5 to ControlLogix conversions , and major
PLC/HMI/SCADA platforms
(Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Modicon).
Experience in
HMI/SCADA development
(FactoryTalk, PlantPAx, Aveva System Platform, Ignition, GE iFIX, Siemens WinCC).
Knowledge of
batch processing, OEE, MES, and ERP system integrations .
Experience in industries such as
semiconductor, life sciences, building automation, food & beverage, water treatment, and general manufacturing .
Ability to
lead a team of engineers
and manage projects up to
$10M .
Experience with
AutoCAD
for control panel and electrical schematic design.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in
diverse industrial environments .
Qualifications:
PMP certification
or
formal project management experience .
Hands-on experience in
designing electrical control panels
(including power distribution under 480VAC).
Professional references from a
subordinate, peer, and manager .
Travel & Work Environment:
Ability to travel up to 25%
(primarily local to Dallas).
Work in a
mix of office, on-site, and industrial environments .
Ability to lift, mount/dismount equipment, and perform hands-on tasks as needed.
