Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Student Experience Officer, the Coordinator of Mission and Sacramental Ministry plays a key leadership role in shaping the spiritual life of the campus community. This position oversees all retreat programming, coordinates sacramental celebrations in collaboration with clergy, and develops meaningful off-campus service and immersion opportunities rooted in Catholic teaching. This position will also serve as a liaison to local parishes and the Diocese to coordinate shared interests. The coordinator inspires students to grow in faith, serve others, and live out the Gospel through action. The Coordinator for Mission and Sacramental Ministry will work closely with key members of the Student Experience team, creating a stronger sense of belonging through outreach, student-centered programs, individualized support and mentorship. The successful candidate will contribute to creating a culturally rich campus environment that aligns with the university's Catholic and Christian traditions and values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Student Outreach and Support: Assist in the planning and execution of student retreats of all class years Support sacramental life including Mass, Reconciliation and Eucharistic Adoration Organize service initiatives and off-campus ministry experiences Collaborate with student organizations, academic departments, and campus partners to facilitate initiatives promoting the Catholic faith. Serve as an advisor for Discipleship groups and Student Missionaries Provide support in coordinating programs/events for students to attend that will build community among mixed faith traditions. Serve as personal mentor, supporting spiritual development within student communities Administrative Support:
Support the coordination and promotion of Campus Ministry events, initiatives, and student leadership. Assist in managing logistics and communications to students about events, i.e. email, social media presence and personal invitations. Plan off campus experiences and attendance at conferences (i.e. Focus conference) Manage communication channels to ensure effective and timely dissemination of information. Collaboration and Communication:
Foster positive relationships with all student populations, faculty, staff, and coaches Build partnerships with local parishes, organizations and mission opportunities Collaborate with other university departments to integrate Campus Ministry into all aspects of campus life. Must understand and support the Mission, Vision and Code of Ethical Conduct of Walsh University, as a Catholic higher education university as expressed in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, and possess the following:
Required Qualifications :
A bachelor's degree is required Applicants must be a Catholic in good standing, give assent of intellect and will follow all the Church's teachings, and be faithful to the Magisterium Knowledge and understanding of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions. Strong communication, mediation, and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on empathy and active listening. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion and compassion. Demonstrated excellence with interpersonal, written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of campus and community constituencies Flexibility with work schedule as evening and weekend programming will be required Live-on campus to provide mentorship, guidance and model Christan living to the residential community Other Preferred Qualifications :
Experience in campus ministry programming or ministry experience in a setting which outreach to students strongly preferred. Ability to multi-task and engage in the gathering, examination and analysis of information to arrive at solutions or recommendations and/or take appropriate action. Must take pride and be thorough in the quality of work produced completing assignments in accordance with the communicated timeline. Demonstrated technology literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Physical Demands and Work Environment
