As a Foster Care Supervisor, you will be primarily responsible for providing initial and ongoing support for foster families and maintaining licensing standards. This individual is also responsible for ensuring the overall safety of the children in care.
This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision wile following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
This role is eligible for a $1,500 sign on bonus + a retention bonus after 6 months of continuous employment and good employment standing
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Manage, develop, and train the Foster Care team, while providing weekly supervision; Build a cohesive team and maintain positive employee morale; Ensure agency policies and procedures are enforced through employee evaluations, conference request, time sheets, and reimbursement vouchers; Oversee the operations of the employee selection, training, and orientation processes; Ensure foster families are working to meet the goal set by the county for child/ren in care; Ensure foster families continually meet standards in their home set to assure safety of children in care such as physical safety of home, health of family members of the home, training for foster parents; Maintain effective contact with attorneys, therapists, CASA workers, and/or other providers; Maintain current and accurate client records, case files, record notes, and medical records; Oversee compliance and audits of files; Comply with the reporting guidelines established by Bethany Christian Services, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), and the court, while submitting all required reports in a timely manner; Provide services that empower clients and adhere to the organization's standards of ethical practice; Coordinate and facilitate the completion of the treatment plan, and maintain contact with all providers to include attending child and family team meetings; Participate in on-call system and schedule, as necessary; Assess the safety and appropriateness of the placement on an ongoing basis using child welfare principles and social work best practices; Assist with budget recommendations; Attend weekly meetings with supervisor to consult on cases, and to review case plan and direction; Keep abreast of community resources and refer foster families for support, as needed; Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services; Be diligent in maintaining foster family trainings, necessary documentation of insurance, document all activities and events in the home. Complete other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's level degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field of study from an accredited college required; Master's level degree in Human Services, Social work or related field of study from an accredited college preferred; At least two (2) years of prior case management supervisory experience in child and family services; Must have a broad knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and methodology of social work; as acquired through a Bachelor's level degree; Demonstrate an understanding of the effects that separation and loss, neglect, physical and sexual abuse has on a child; Knowledge of state, community and agency resources; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Demonstrated clinical, therapeutic, and crisis intervention skills; Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality; Adheres to all agency and departmental safety procedures including reporting any unsafe practices, equipment and environment, and takes an active role in correcting the unsafe practice, equipment or environment through proper notification channels; Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions; Must be 21 years old with a valid driver'slicense with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicleon behalf of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check andmaintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage; Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries; Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commitment.
