The Principal Solutions Architect, Data Platform & Cloud Engineering will be responsible for developing and leading the design of robust architectures that align with business objectives and support data-driven decision-making. This role focuses on creating scalable, high-performance data solutions that integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring accessibility, consistency, and security. The Solutions Architect will enable data sharing across business functions and transform data into valuable insights for operational and strategic use. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to understand requirements, assess existing systems, and design architectures that meet current and future needs. The role involves driving innovation through data management, governance, and analytics, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the evolution of the company's data strategy. Primary Duties And Accountabilities

Design and implement scalable data architectures, including conceptual, logical, and physical models, aligned with enterprise architecture frameworks to promote consistency, scalability, and data-driven decision making. Lead the development, optimization, and automation of data pipelines and data warehousing solutions; continuously evaluate and improve data systems to enhance accuracy, accessibility, performance, and user satisfaction while mitigating risks. Collaborate with business and IT teams to translate needs into data solutions aligned with strategic goals; communicate data strategies and complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Establish and enforce data governance practices to ensure regulatory compliance and promote data stewardship; educate stakeholders on data management best practices and use of data insights. Stay current on emerging data technologies and trends; mentor cross-functional teams in designing and implementing data platforms that provide actionable insights. Design and implement DevOps and DevSecOps strategies for data platform automation, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, and security integration throughout the data lifecycle. Collaborate with Cloud Engineering teams to architect resilient, scalable, and secure cloud-native data infrastructure with focus on automation, observability, high availability, and secure deployments. Drive FinOps accountability by developing and monitoring cloud cost optimization strategies, including cost modeling and governance; evaluate and implement cloud-native solutions in Azure for operations, monitoring, incident response, and cost transparency. Mentor cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of scalable data platforms that deliver actionable insights for business users. Continuously assess and optimize existing data systems to improve efficiency, performance, and user satisfaction; identify and mitigate risks. Communicate data strategies and complex concepts clearly to stakeholders to foster cross-functional collaboration and promote a data-driven culture. Evaluate and implement cloud-native solutions in Azure to support operations, monitoring, incident response, and cost transparency, enabling enterprise-wide scalability and efficiency. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field 10+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or a similar role In-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including Azure Databricks, Synapse, Fabric/Power BI, Azure AI Foundry, and Azure OpenAI Deep expertise in data architecture, including data modeling (OLTP and OLAP), ETL pipelines, data lakes, and BI solutions; proficient in relational and NoSQL databases and Big Data technologies; familiarity with data formats like Avro and Parquet Strong data governance and data security knowledge in cloud-based and enterprise data systems; experience defining enterprise standards and secure architectures Hands-on experience with data profiling, data cataloging, and maintaining Data Dictionaries using tools such as Erwin or Power Designer Experience in DevOps or platform engineering for data platforms with infrastructure automation and deployment workflows using Terraform, ARM templates, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps Proven cloud architecture experience on Azure, including IaC, networking, monitoring, disaster recovery, and FinOps-based cost optimization Ability to translate functional and non-functional requirements into scalable data solutions Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and align data strategy with business objectives Excellent communication, consulting, and negotiation skills for technical and business stakeholders Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree Azure Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer Expert, or FinOps Practitioner certifications Familiarity with data governance best practices, data privacy laws, and secure data management through encryption and access controls Expertise in optimizing Azure data solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency Familiarity with SRE principles applied to data platforms Seniority level
