Veteran to Veteran Volunteer

The Veteran to Veteran volunteer will provide spiritual and emotional care to terminally ill veterans and their families. The responsibilities for this positions include but are not limited to: performing special recognition ceremony in honor of service patient participating in veteran centric events engaging in patient interests and hobbies visiting patients in their homes, nursing homes and assisted living facilities providing non-judgmental social support. Veteran to Veteran volunteers are expected to work collaboratively as a member of interdisciplinary teams, adhere to all policies and follow guidelines for universal precautions when providing patient care. This person can work with people of various religious faiths and cultures. Sacred Journey Hospice is currently still seeking volunteers for this position and has implemented policies to ensure that staff, volunteers and patients are protected from COVID-19. Additionally, volunteers will currently only be visiting patients in their homes.
