Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Three (3) months of clinical experience and/or training in an ancillary department. BLS certification. Preferred: Endoscopy Technician Certification by the SGNA-Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates. One (1) year of experience in a comparable medical setting. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, anatomy, surgical techniques and equipment, coding procedures for endoscopy technician practice scope. Knowledge of patient care techniques and the principles of sterile techniques. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills. Familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems. Ability to handle multiple requests and prioritize appropriately. Ability to work in stressful situations.
