With your co-teacher, design and implement differentiation techniques to create culturally responsive government and economics lesson plans that meet the needs of all students. Collaboratively plan units and lessons using multiple engagement strategies to serve diverse learners. Collect and analyze formal and informal student data to develop responsive classroom supports. Serve as a case manager for a small group of students: monitor progress, communicate with families, and write IEPs. Incorporate IEP learning and socio-emotional needs into instructional planning; provide targeted instruction in small groups as needed. Partner with the schools special services leaders to support the IEP process. Prepare student Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with staff and families when required to ensure equitable access for all students. Attend regular coaching meetings and professional development as part of the school team. Classroom Environment

Build a warm, inclusive classroom with multiple means for students to engage with teachers, peers, and content. Set a tone of high expectations and student voice, fostering a positive learning environment. Develop and uphold strong community norms equitably for all classroom members. Collaborate with grade teams and families to build relationships that reflect the diverse needs of all students. Respond to and redirect off-task behavior as needed. Parent Partnership

Develop strong relationships and communication with students families; provide regular updates on progress. Incorporate family and student feedback to improve the learning experience. Coordinate and facilitate meetings with families for events such as Report Card Night. Candidate Requirements

Bachelors degree required; Masters Degree in Secondary Special Education strongly preferred. NYS teaching certification preferred. At least 12 years of teaching in a classroom or supporting students in a Special Education capacity. Salary

Salary range is $63,960 to $106,995, with compensation based on skills, education, and experience. Salaries are set through a lens of equity. EEO And Accessibility
