Technical Trainer - Electrical Maintenance
The Technical Training Specialist is a high performing contributor that facilitates technical training programs. This role will help design, implement, and evaluate training initiatives to support technical employee development and organizational goals. Duties and responsibilities of the position include: Comply with all company safety rules and procedures. Coordinate, administer, and maintain a variety of technical, operational, or functional training and development services. Plan and facilitate training workshops that are driven by strategic performance needs of the organization. Review monthly metrics from manufacturing and evaluate if training procedures are creating effective change. Take successful process improvements and use them to revise training. Develop training modules and training workshops. Analyze employee feedback and performance data to develop relevant training materials and deliver appropriate training. Consult with managers and employees on employee performance and development needs within their responsibility. Support 5s of workshop and training materials. Teach principles of precision maintenance. Coordinate and maintain training materials inventory. Assist management in the selection of non-Company training programs. Maintain tracking systems and prepare reports. Recommend processes and procedural enhancements to eliminate non-value-added activities. Provide expertise for training assignments. Build and assemble technical trainers for exercises and assessment. Research and locate technical documentation for troubleshooting purposes. Perform other duties as needed. Required experience and education include: Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent education and/or experience. 8-10 years of job specific experience or equivalent education and/or experience. Competencies include: In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in multiple of the following competencies: AC/DC electricity, electrical wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting Mechanisms such as belts, gears, bearings, pulleys, conveyor systems, rigging, chains Hydraulics/Pneumatics Motors and controls Automation and PLCs Understanding of learning and development strategies and the ability to implement in the design of training materials and during training sessions. Troubleshooting methods and tools and locate technical document. Proficient in reading prints, diagrams, schematics. Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills. Strong understanding of preventative maintenance. Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively. High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data. Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products. Adaptable to change, team player, and able to handle multiple projects at once. High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; bending, squatting, standing and walking. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Other pertinent job information includes: Occasional travel is required. Flexible with shift hours to provide training for off shift employees. Comfortable with being on a manufacturing floor. May assist with troubleshooting and preventative maintenance activities to support learning and development.
