About this Role:

Ready to drive the future of lending at Securityplus? We're looking for a Director of Consumer Lending to lead growth in consumer and indirect lending, elevate member experience, and ensure portfolio strength. Reporting to the Chief Lending Officer (CLO), you will oversee loan origination, underwriting, servicing, and quality control-balancing credit quality with volume growth and profitability. You'll also own dealer relationship management and program expansion to fuel our indirect lending success.

If you have a passion for lending, building strong teams, and creating member-focused solutions that drive financial health, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact and shape the lending future of Securityplus Federal Credit Union.

Requirements

Full-Time, Exempt - Responsibilities:

Strategic Lending Leadership & Growth You will lead all facets of consumer and indirect lending operations, from origination through servicing, with a focus on credit

quality, yield, and profitability. This includes developing and executing lending strategies that balance risk with growth, ensuring policies and procedures align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. By monitoring market conditions, competitor trends, and member needs, you will identify opportunities for new products, pricing strategies, and channel expansion. Partnering with senior leadership, you will integrate lending goals into the broader business strategy and contribute to long-term success.

Consumer Lending Operations & Compliance You will oversee the entire loan lifecycle-including underwriting, decision-making, funding, servicing, documentation, and post-closing quality control-to ensure efficiency, consistency, and compliance. As the primary liaison with auditors, examiners, and legal counsel, you will ensure adherence to state and federal regulations through timely reporting and follow-up. You will establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures that safeguard credit union assets while driving operational excellence. Additionally, you will manage loan origination systems and vendor relationships, performing due diligence and risk assessments to ensure compliance and operational integrity.

Indirect Lending & Dealer Partnerships

You will build and sustain strong dealer relationships to diversify originations and expand indirect lending opportunities. By creating dealer scorecards to track performance, compliance, and profitability, you will ensure accountability and strengthen partnerships. You will promote the credit union's values through training, incentives, and service excellence-ultimately driving indirect penetration, member conversion, and cross-sell opportunities.

Performance Management & Reporting You will manage the lending pipeline to ensure timely and accurate loan processing in line with service-level expectations. This includes monitoring approval rates, turnaround times, look-to-book ratios, yield, and overall profitability. You will also compile and present monthly departmental reports that provide leadership with actionable insights and support sound decision-making.

Team Leadership & Staff Development You will lead a team of originators, underwriters, servicers, and processors by fostering a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement. Through hiring, coaching, and mentoring, you will ensure that staff are engaged, motivated, and well-trained. You will communicate organizational updates and initiatives clearly and consistently, while equipping employees with the tools, training, and guidance they need to excel. By investing in your team's development, you will build future leaders and enhance service delivery.

Risk Management & Quality Assurance You will design and enforce quality control processes that maintain high standards in documentation, lien perfection, credit reporting, and collateral management. Regular audits and assessments will allow you to evaluate effectiveness, identify risks, and recommend process improvements. In addition, you will manage GAP, Credit Life & Disability, and Collateral Protection programs, ensuring compliance and profitability while protecting both members and the credit union.

What You'll Bring to the Table:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field required.

5-8 years in lending operations within a financial institution environment required.

Demonstrated leadership in underwriting, operations and business development.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to inspire and lead a diverse team to achieve common goals.

Proficiency in using loan operating systems, core system platforms, and other relevant technologies.
