Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect

GovCIO is currently hiring a Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to support our US Coast Guard program. This position will be located within the United States and will be a full remote position. Responsibilities include: Gathering information concerning the capabilities of company products; investigating the technical capabilities of company products and competing equipment and/or solutions; staying abreast of developments in hardware and software. Generating quantifiable requirements based on customer description, system planning and design, and ensuring requirements comply through formal verification methods. Translating high-level product development strategies into network and system requirement specifications and working with other engineering disciplines to develop lower level detailed implementation requirements. Establishing and coordinating development of standards, practices, and procedures as related to the network and system development. Designing interfaces and bringing network and system elements together so they work as a whole. Assessing performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Customer liaison and support for business development activities and to understand and shape requirements. Coordinating the planning, design, and installation of equipment, using knowledge of engineering and programming as well as sophisticated instruments and computers. Participating in system conceptual design and documentation of the design concepts. Installing all new hardware, systems, and software for networks. Designing, creating, and building network services, equipment, and devices. Generating system level requirements verification procedures and customer acceptance test procedures. Monitoring system performance and implementing performance tuning. Reviewing test plans/procedures and ensuring they meet the objectives of the contractual requirements and participating in the testing process to validate requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor's with 8+ years (or commensurate experience) Required Skills and Experience: Clearance Required: Must be clearable up to an active Secret clearance.
