Commissioning Manager - Data Center Construction

Position: Commissioning Manager Hyperscale Data Centers Location: Phoenix, AZ (On-Site Full-Time) Top 10 Electrical Contractor A top-ranked national electrical contractor is hiring a Commissioning Manager to lead the testing and turnover of hyperscale data center projects in the Phoenix market. This role ensures electrical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to meet rigorous client, safety, and performance standards in high-pressure, fast-track environments. Key Responsibilities: Oversee and execute commissioning plans for electrical systems (MV/LV, UPS, generators, switchgear, etc.) Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, engineering, and client teams to validate readiness Manage startup, functional testing, and integrated system commissioning Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and in alignment with client protocols Troubleshoot system issues and lead root cause analysis when required Interface directly with hyperscale clients, commissioning agents, and design teams Maintain testing schedules and drive alignment across multiple commissioning phases Lead turnover efforts and support final acceptance by client teams. Required Skills & Experience: 8+ years of experience in electrical commissioning, startup, or QA/QCpreferably in mission-critical environments Strong understanding of complex power systems, backup infrastructure, and controls Experience with hyperscale data center commissioning or large MEP systems Ability to lead testing teams and coordinate with diverse project stakeholders Familiarity with commissioning software, reporting tools, and standards (e.g., ASHRAE/NIBS) Preferred Qualifications: Background in electrical contracting or field engineering Commissioning certifications (CxA, BCxP, LEED Cx) a plus OSHA 30 and strong safety leadership credentials
