Heavy Highway Estimator - Civil Construction

We are seeking an experienced and driven

Estimator

to join a leading civil construction firm specializing in heavy highway projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in estimating and bidding on a wide range of infrastructure projects, including asphalt, concrete, and earthwork. The ideal candidate has a strong background in civil construction estimating and thrives in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate and timely estimates for multiple concurrent heavy highway projects

Perform full-cycle estimating including take-offs, vendor/subcontractor solicitation, and bid reviews

Collaborate with customers, engineers, vendors, and internal departments to understand project scope and ensure competitive bids

Support project handoff, change order calculations, and post-job cost analysis

Participate in job reviews to refine estimating strategies and improve performance

What We’re Looking For:

5+ years of estimating experience in heavy highway or related civil construction

Proficiency in estimating software (B2W preferred) and digital tools such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management platforms

Background in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (degree or equivalent experience)

Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills

Ability to build strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams

Familiarity with safety and environmental standards (OSHA, MSHA, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of HMA/Concrete estimating, project management, and means & methods

Experience with XBE, Spectrum, and Monday.com a plus

High attention to detail and ethical decision-making

Emotional intelligence and values-based leadership
