Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and systems within our food manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical background and experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's). Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plastic extrusion lines. Re-programming machines and robots. Experience with Fanuc Robots is a plus. Visually inspect, test, diagnose, and troubleshoot faulty equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on all plant equipment. Install new or repaired parts to keep machines running at a high standard. Read and interpret equipment manuals and schematic prints (electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical) to perform required maintenance and service. Work effectively and efficiently with production and senior leadership to solve problems. Working as a team player to reach consistent output goals. Maintaining a safe workspace and commitment to following Hitachi Astemo's safety mission and standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Safely perform routine installations, repairs and maintenance on production equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance. Safely troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues in a timely manner. Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Install, maintain and troubleshoot PLCs and other control systems. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Assist in development and implementation of maintenance procedures and schedules. Provide training and support to other maintenance staff as needed. Assists with audits and inspections by outside agencies Education, Experience & Qualifications: High School Diploma Ability to use basic math skills Minimum of 2 years in similar position or has demonstrated aptitude Well versed with all production machinery including Hayssen baggers, Bartelt, HMC form fill seal pouches, auger fillers, cappers, cartoners, Tronix labelers, Videojet printers, Bellmark printers, and ribbon mixers. Basic plumbing skills. Fabricating/welding/grinding skills. Pneumatics Machining skills Ability to read blue prints and basic schematics Demonstrated attendance and work reliability Attends and participates in all training programs required by company Works on a flexible schedule as needed Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays (if necessary) Ability to adhere and promote Good Manufacturing Practices within plant Equal Opportunity Employer IND1
