Director of Nursing
oversees all nursing operations, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards. This role manages and develops nursing staff, leads infection prevention and medication management efforts, and drives process improvements to enhance efficiency and outcomes. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong clinical expertise and a commitment to excellence in patient care. Responsibilities
Oversee delivery of safe, competent, and compliant nursing care while ensuring standards are consistently met. Lead, supervise, and develop nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance management, and retention initiatives. Collaborate with medical leadership to coordinate patient care and treatment planning. Manage infection prevention and control programs, including policy development, staff education, reporting, and compliance with CDC/OSHA guidelines. Administer medication management processes and serve as liaison with pharmacy and laboratory vendors. Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance through policy updates, incident review, audits, and reporting. Develop and implement orientation, training, and continuing education programs for nursing staff. Monitor and analyze nursing and infection control data to drive quality improvement and patient safety. Foster effective communication and collaboration across departments, committees, and external partners. Support financial oversight through payroll review, staffing management, and resource allocation. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Graduate of accredited school of nursing with a current State of Connecticut RN license; MSN preferred. One-year experience with substance abuse treatment population preferred; three years supervisory experience and administrative/management experience required. Knowledge of nursing practices and functions involved in the provision of adult detoxification treatment and residential treatment services. Ability to interpret and implement State of Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) and Department of Mental & Addiction Services (DMHAS) regulations regarding substance abuse and treatment and mental health treatment, as well as The Joint Commission and TRICARE standards. Ability to interpret and implement ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria. Professional integrity and leadership skills in interactions with all members of the treatment system. Capable of implementing appropriate and innovative practices in dealing with the client population and all team members. Ability to present information in an articulate, resourceful fashion to all team members through appropriate communication skills. Smoking/vaping and the use of tobacco products are prohibited on all Company premises, including indoor and outdoor areas, parking lots, and Company-owned vehicles.
