POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Youth/Family programs is responsible for leading and supervising the pathway/child care and teens departments of assigned areas. The Director of Youth/Family programs will oversee the development, organization, and implementation of high-quality youth, teens, and family programs such as Leaders Club, Achievers, Youth In Government, Model UN, and Teen Caf. The role includes direct responsibility for managing YMCA Core Teen Leadership programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensure programs and services meet community needs by supervising existing activities, establishing new programs, and expanding offerings within the community. Assist in marketing and distributing program information. Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop diverse staff and volunteers across various demographics. Model relationship-building skills and develop collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintain clear and concise communication within the area of responsibility. Manage program operations, including developing and monitoring budgets, compiling statistics, and overseeing facility scheduling. Collaborate with YMCA leadership and fund development staff to identify funding opportunities for program sustainability. Develop and maintain relationships with schools, parents, community organizations, and agencies related to program areas. Supervise staff, monitor program operations, schedule activities, and verify timesheets. Ensure YMCA program standards and safety procedures are followed at all times. Serve as Cause Driven Leader on Duty (CDLOD) during scheduled shifts. Adhere to Blood Borne Pathogen standards and attend annual training. Ensure all classes adhere to YMCA of Cleveland standards and guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS: Education:
Bachelors Degree preferred; in lieu, an Associates Degree with 2-3 years of related experience or a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent with 4-6 years of related experience. Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in supervision, customer service, and/or program management; 2 years programming experience preferred. Certification(s):
CPR and First Aid certifications and Safety training required within 30 days of hire. Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups, motivate staff, create innovative strategies, demonstrate strong customer service skills, and analyze financial information. Must model the YMCA mission and values and be willing to serve as a mandated reporter for child abuse and neglect.
