Overview
Cambridge has recruited talented interns from across the country to join us during the summer for a 11 week paid internship. We'll have over 25 interns join us at our home offices in Fairfield, Iowa and Phoenix, Arizona. The Next Step internship program gives students practical insight into the financial services industry and allows students to gain practical knowledge in their field. Students are partnered with a professional mentor, supervisor, and executive leader to gain networking opportunities and learn from industry professionals. At the conclusion of the internship, each intern will have the opportunity to present on their experience and a specific project of their choice.
Essential Duties
Cambridge's Technology and Client Experience teams are offering internship opportunities in User Experience Design and Software Development. These roles provide hands-on experience in design thinking, agile development, and real-world project delivery.
We have seven Technology openings located in the Fairfield, IA or Phoenix, AZ offices.
Key Traits
User Experience Design Intern Ideal for students in UX Design, HCI, or related fields. Strong in design thinking and user research. Proficient in Figma and visual design principles. Software Developer Intern
Ideal for students in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or MIS Analytical and skilled in C#, .NET, SQL, and Salesforce. As the User Experience Design or Software Developer Intern, you will:
Apply design thinking, challenge the status quo, and promote inclusive user-centered methodologies Conduct user research and usability testing Design and develop software using Figma and other coding systems (C#, .NET, ASP.NET MVC, and SQL) Translate user needs into design solutions while working cross-functionally with stakeholders Learn CI/CD, Agile/Scrum, and Cambridge SDLC practices Work within Salesforce to configure page layouts, permissions sets, create custom Apex code, and OMNI channels Education & Experience
Students studying user experience, human computer interaction, user experience design, computer science, computer information systems, computer engineering, software engineering, applied mathematics, management information systems, or similar majors will likely be most successful in these roles.
$20-26 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the compensation to be offered for this position based on the ideal candidate's qualifications, the Company's operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law. The actual pay offered to a specific candidate may vary above or below the stated range.

Interns will participate in leadership panels to hear from company leaders, ask questions and gain valuable insight as well as have the chance to job shadow in other teams at Cambridge. Following the summer internship, interns have access to the Next Step Intern Alumni LinkedIn group to stay in touch with Cambridge and other past interns. Opportunity to discuss continued employment with Cambridge on a part-time or full-time basis following the internship.
