Cyber Security Specialist Senior

Leidos is looking to hire in Camp Pendleton, CA to join our SMIT program. The Cyber Security Specialist Senior will inform users about security measures, explain potential threats, implement, administer, and enforce security best practices to protect information and prevent unauthorized access, and may respond to computer security breaches and viruses. Under broad supervision, the role will operate all aspects of Information Systems (IS) data availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport portion of NGEN-R, Leidos will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. The aim is to unify shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while saving costs by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Implements and monitors security measures for communication systems and networks, and provides guidance that systems and personnel adhere to established security standards and governmental requirements. Develops and executes government-approved security policies, plans, and procedures; implements data network security measures; operates and monitors network intrusion detection and forensic systems; conducts IS security incident handling; supports COOP/DR plans and performs certification of IS and networks. Performs other information security duties including operation of Electronic Key Management System (EKMS), implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and maintenance of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Operates Trellix/McAfee HBSS, firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPNs, and related security operations. Performs defensive cyber operations including ensuring workstation and server compliance with Marine Corps requirements; maintains cybersecurity by operating Tenable Security Center (ACAS), Trellix/McAfee SIEM, Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Defender for Endpoints (MDE), Tanium, Nessus, SCCM, OPDRS, AD, POA&M, IAVM, and other tools; tracks tickets in Remedy; operates Imperva WAF/WAS; conducts forensics and remediation of cybersecurity incidents; and reports defensive cyber operations statistics. Confers with users to discuss access needs, security violations, and programming changes. Creates and utilizes complex PowerShell scripts to automate processes, manage endpoints, perform bulk patching, and other functions. Basic Qualifications
10 years of relevant experience. Bachelors Degree or the equivalent combination of training, education, and military experience. DoD 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level III certification. Experience in computer and information security assessment and administration. U.S. citizen with a DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
