Grain Inspectors take on a diverse set of responsibilities to ensure the seamless operation of the facility, including sample probing, commodity grading, testing, and general maintenance. Ensure proper flow of sample testing through the facility and steady flow of grain to the facility. Act as a back-up to Grain Prober/Sampler. Be responsible for accuracy in reporting results; record test results and provide information to the client or grain truck driver. Represent Eurofins Grain Inspection to client companies by acting as a liaison between the facility and client grain company merchandisers. Relay information to the grain operations manager for proper action. Process necessary paperwork required by the client company and Eurofins Grain Inspection. Inspect and grade grain samples in a timely manner. Test grain samples using accepted industry practices with visual procedures and computerized equipment; test samples for weight, moisture, foreign material, damage; including potential mycotoxin and non-GMO testing where applicable. Assist in training incoming Grain Inspectors in all aspects of grain inspection and testing; assist in evaluating the ability and readiness of new inspectors to assume responsibility for testing. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations relative to assigned analytical work; maintain a clean and safe work environment. Demonstrate ability to operate required basic lab equipment within the department in accordance with USDA grain standards. Maintain readiness to respond to client, staff, and co-worker queries and needs. Stay current on technical, industry, and business advancements and trends as suggested by the Department Leader or supervisor. Recommend more accurate or efficient laboratory equipment or procedures. Maintain cooperative working relationships with all company employees; communicate orally and in writing to co-workers. Promote the company image through sound and ethical business practices related to the public and our customers. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
